Stacie Leigh Bumgarner creates fine art, custom illustrations, and other handcrafted original works using a broad range of media and techniques – including oil painting, watercolor, charcoal & pastels, printmaking, digital media, textiles, and ceramics.  her studio is located at the cedar works in west philadelphia.

steeped in the biological sciences, philosophy, and the arts, stacie’s educational background and experience doing laboratory research and teaching suffuse the nature and content of her current work and aesthetic.  her work explores themes of process, contemplation, and the wonder of discovery, oscillating between the lens of student and teacher, and showing various perspectives inherent in the journey of learning.  her pieces often summon storytelling, calling to the viewer to imagine a narrative, sometimes playful and other times more deeply introspective.
