Based on a true story: the Thai eggplant in the manger represents our “miracle”, commemorating a family holiday gathering in Spokane WA when the artist’s brother-in-law remarked that they’d have better luck finding the baby Jesus than a Thai eggplant in the produce section of the local grocery store. The attending angel carries an Albertsons shopping bag. The wise men offer gifts of thai basil and champagne.
